Wilkinson Eyre Book Launch
Exploring Boundaries: The Architecture of Wilkinson Eyre
On the 10th October 2007 I was asked by my friend Mark Dowsett to help create a digital interactive book, for the realworld launch of Wilkinson Eyre’s second major monograph Exploring Boundaries.
The new book follows development of the architects between 2002 and 2007, following its two RIBA Stirling Prize wins. It contains essays by Peter Davey and Kurt W. Forster and it explores fifteen projects in detail, and also includes a unique commentary by Jim Eyre andChris Wilkinson.
A real page turner
I was able to quite quickly convert a pre-release PDF file of the book into a fully interactive “page turner” that allowed guests to flick through a huge, high resolution projection of the book at its London launch party
Wilkinson Eyre Architects, the London architectural firm, has been drawing huge amounts of attention with its imaginative and innovative designs. Two of the best-known are the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Floral Street Bridge. The book Exploring Boundaries offers detailed documentation of 15 structures and projects. The projects presented include the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea, the Guangzhou West Tower in China; the Gatwick Airbridge, UK, and the Stirling Prize-winning Magna Centre in Rotherham, UK; among others.
