Astucia: SolarLite
Solar powered cats-eyes
I created the software behind the SolarLite night delineation aids for Astucia, a market leader in traffic safety systems. The interactive showcases a new solution to the traditional method of marking a road at night or in bad weather conditions.
I worked with HMC and Fixel in conjunction with Carbon Global produced an informative simulator comparing retro-reflective Cat’s Eyes with a new design called SolarLite. This simulator lets users experience how this can aid a driver through the use of a fully 3D rendered first person view of a winding country road and the comparison between current and new road marking methods.
By pushing a button the user can see the car being driven in different weather conditions such as rain, fog, dusk and night.
SolarLite was hugely successful in Trade Shows and exhibitions and has now been launched online.
Trade show touchscreen
I designed and coded touchscreen software for an interactive sales kiosk for trade shows and presentations. Fixel provided amazing 3D graphics of the cats-eyes responding under different weather conditions. I was able to create software that would allow people to see the effects of the new cats eyes compared to standard ones in a range of weather conditions. I also provided art direction and management throughout the project
